Immerse Yourself In Real-Life Scenarios
We’ve developed a curriculum with over 300+ years of training experience and have trained over 20,000 individuals, including military, police, & armed & unarmed civilians.
In collaboration with firearms trainers, a legal team, and law enforcement (LE) and military (MIL) agencies, we’ve created an enhanced training system that promotes consistent training.
Unlike many software developers who found a niche in firearms training, we are firearms instructors that made technology work for us.
Immersive VR
Orion incorporates movement into defensive techniques and tactics training to show how you react under stressful situations.
We actively develop dynamic and immersive content on a quarterly basis & included in the leasing program at no additional charge.
Each scenario ends with a detailed replay analysis, ballistics examination, biometric tracking, & more.
The systems are developed with a modular approach to use the best technology available while making it easy to set up and use.
It’s affordable through an inclusive leasing program available.

The Modular Approach | We took a modular approach to the system and designed virtual shoot houses requiring a minimum of 20’x24’ sqft of indoor floor space. It operates as a stand-alone training unit or networked together with other local units in the same geographic location for team training or connected to a private or government cloud-based service for global access training within the same virtual shoot-house. Currently, there are a total of 10 shoot houses built. |
Focus on Skill Sets | Current simulators focus on situation-given scenarios, allowing the user to engage. The after-action reports are minimal and show when the shots were made and their placements. Our shoot-house encourages the user to move while making decisions under stress to gauge and assess the user’s cognitive processing abilities. As a user moves through the space, walls, rooms, and other assets within the scenario are triggered, giving the user the allusion of moving through space much larger than the actual space in which they are moving. Basic AI programmed as paper targets, moving targets, and humanoid assets will engage with the user. The key elements and data collected can be analyzed and used to further refine the training to fit the overall goal of readiness. The goals during training may include clearing corners, doorways, hallways, up or down staircases, or around obstacles once inside the room. Training also can include decision-making opportunities such as which room to clear first or at what speed to move through, or even technical training on how or when to use a flashlight. |
Plug & Play | Your new PC will have everything you need to plug in and start training. We've designed the entire system to be easy to use, whether you're a tech expert or a complete novice. |
Scenario Development | Every scenario developed by Orion Training Systems starts with a subject matter expert, guided by our in-house attorney, working toward a training objective. Our programmers then establish the foundations to meet each goal while our digital artists develop a realistic atmosphere for the trainee to engage. The 'World,' designed by our artistic team, utilizes motion-capture technology to incorporate real-life body movements and facial recognition to ensure realistic avatars. The average scenario in our library takes around 1,200 hours from inception to completion. To keep the training on the cutting edge, we constantly create new scenarios, setting our targets higher each time. |
Instructor Lead After Action Reports / Debriefs | Most simulators are developed by software engineers and/or developers for a niche market who are guided by subject matter experts. Because of this, essential aspects are sometimes overlooked while developing content. We are firearms instructors from all branches of military and law enforcement as well as civilian certified instructors who have worked with over 20,000 students of varying capabilities and experiences. With each student, the missions vary. However, the goals are universal, to survive and prevail. The shoot-house pushes students to use physical and mental skill sets necessary to survive while under a stressful situation. For every minute in the shoot-house, there’s a minimum of five minutes of debriefs. The built-in playbacks are immediate as the instructor reviews them with the user. However, the playback is valuable for self-evaluation as the user can “see” the feedback and is able to learn instantly. |
Custom-Built PC | No need to worry about PC specs because we've covered it for you. We've already done the legwork of uploading all the necessary software and connecting the rest of the tech, so it's as easy as plugging in and getting to work. The best part is that we've included a 3-year extended warranty. |
Tablet with Rugged Case | The system runs concurrently from your tablet and the PC so that you can be on the move with your trainee. Since we tend to move quickly and accidents happen, we've included a tough case to keep it safe. |
VR-Ready Pistol with Functional Light | Using proprietary Orion technology, we use genuine pistols with recoil to make training in VR all the more real. We included a functional light to give you more speed and efficiency with the bonus of reducing muzzle climb, which leads to faster follow-up shots. |
VR-Ready Rifle | Using proprietary Orion technology, we use genuine rifles with recoil to make training in VR all the more real. |
Head-Mounted Display (HMD) | Through the display, you'll be able to immerse yourself and look 360° around our scenarios, and they're wireless so that you can move freely around your physical space. We've designed our programs to work with the latest HMDs, so we'll make sure to update you with the newest technology. |
Trackers | Positional trackers communicate with the base stations to place you and your weapon in both physical and digital space, so that means when you walk in real life, you'll be moving in the VR space too. |
Base Stations | Base stations set up the foundation of the virtual space by scaling it with the physical space around you. Once you establish your training zone, the base stations track the locations of your HDM & trackers to show you and your weapon in VR. |
Heart Rate Monitor | Stress inoculation is a crucial part of our training, and by connecting heart rate monitors to the scenario, we can see when and where your stress levels change. |
Keyboard, Mouse, & Monitors | This trifecta will help you run Orion on your custom PC. |
Router | We've included a router to keep all of your technology connected on the same network. |
USB Hub with Charging Cables | What's all this tech for if you can't keep it charged? We'll include a charging hub so you can keep everything powered up in once place. |
